ISAIAH 12 STUDY GUIDE
Isaiah 12
1: And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2: Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3: Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4: And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
5: Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
6: Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

VERSUS JESUS AS SAVIOUR - COMPARISON STUDY GUIDE
In The Old Testament, God is the only Saviour.
Within The New Testament there is confusion in the translations, as to whether God is the Saviour, or Jesus Christ, or both, for they sometimes make the two interchangeable. Below are several examples for comparisons.

THE WELLS AND FOUNTAINS
THE OLD TESTAMENT
Genesis 26:12-15 Isaac Sows, and is prosperous - The Phillistines stopped Abraham's wells- They envy Isaac
[12] Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.
[13] And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:
[14] For he had possession of flocks, and possessions of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him.
[15] For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth.
Genesis 26:16-19 King Abimelech Sends Isaac Away - He departs to valley of Gerar where he digs more wells
[16] And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we.
[17] And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
[18] And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them.
[19] And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.
Genesis 26:20-23 The herdmen of Gerar strive with Isaac's herdmen claiming the wells until Isaac digs the well he named Rehoboth
[20] And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac's herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him.
[21] And they digged another well, and strove for that also:and he called the name of it Sitnah.
[22] And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the LORD hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
[23] And he went up from thence to Beer-sheba.

Exodus 15:20-27- (Miriam Aaron's Sister – the prophetess, and the women sing and dance to the Lord)
20: And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21: And Miriam answered them, Sing ye to the LORD, for he hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.
22: So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.
23: And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was called Marah.
24: And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?
25: And he cried unto the LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
26: And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.
27: And they came to Elim, where were twelve wells of water, and threescore and ten palm trees: and they encamped there by the waters.

And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.'

2 Peter 2:17-22 These are wells without water... to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever...those that were clean escaped from them who live in error... While they promise them liberty, they... are the servants of corruption...For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein...
17: These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
18: For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
19: While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
20: For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21: For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22: But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again;
and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
