PSALM 23 - STUDY GUIDE
"God Through Anne Terri With The Holy Spirit: Before We Begin, I Bring My Introduction forward from the Directives I Gave you from Our Travel Log, in reference to the study of Psalm 23.
It is time to research a most favorite of all King David's Psalms, Psalm 23.
The handheld Bible you are using here is the Living Bible, and you have noticed the difference in translations from
the more traditional version of this Psalm, which usually is printed for funeral cards, and handed out in the name
of the deceased. For King David, this was about Protection during facing his enemies of war. This does not fit,
does it? No. Write in Our Study Guide one from the Living Bible and seek from you many household Bibles, comparisons.
This is why some of the confusion exists in studies.
Now it is time to Show them the comparisons. The King James Version of The Holy Bible is My Chosen one for The Third Testament primary research.
Even this one has gone through many translations. The Colors of The Third Testament will be used with this version only.
AMEN"
PSALM 23 - KING JAMES VERSION
1: The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2: He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3: He restoreth my soul: he leadeth
me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5: Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Historical Notes: Daniel Bomberg printed the first Rabbinic Bible between 1516 and 1517, followed by a second edition by Jacobben Chayyim between 1524 and 1525.
The KING JAMES VERSION -of the Bible was originally commissioned in 1604 at the Hampton Court Conference held outside London, England. The first printed version was in 1611. The original version is considered to be the best of the translations to English.
This King James Version used Jacobben Chayyim's text for Rudolf Kittel's Biblica Hebraica and the edition published in 1906 and 1912. Later in 1937, Paul Kahle published a 3rd edition of Biblica Hebraica based on the oldest dated manuscript of the Ben Asher text, the Leningrad Manuscript B19 (A.D.1008) which Kahle regarded as superior to that used by Chayyim. (Various Spellings: Jacob ben Hayyim ben Isaac ibn Adonijah ... Jacob ben Chajim ibn Adonijah)
THE LIVING BIBLE - Originally published as Living Letters in 1962; this has gone through 7 name changes with each publication till now.
Psalm 23 - The Living Bible Version
1. Because The Lord is my Shepherd, I have everything I need.
2-3. He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He restores my failing health. He helps me to do what honors him most.
4. Even when walking through the dark valley of death I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me, guarding, guiding all the way.
5. You provide delicious food for me in the presence of my enemies. You have welcomed me as your guest.
6. Your goodness and unfailing kindness shall be with me all of my life, and afterwards, I will live with you forever in your home.
Note: In the literal translation within The Living Bible, at the foot notes it is more correct. Why keep changing it?
