Levi H. Dowling was born in Bellville, Ohio, May 18, 1844. His father was a preacher, one of the first of the Disciples of Christ. Following in his father's footsteps, he also became an American preacher. Levi began his preaching when he was sixteen and was at the young age of eighteen a pastor of a small church.
He served in the United States Army as a chaplain and this he accomplished during the Civil War. From 1866 to 1867 Levi became a student at Northwestern Christian University, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. After this year of study began his career in publishing and writing for his Sunday School. At President Lincoln's funeral service, Levi preached for the Union troops in Illinois who had served and fallen.
Levi went to medical school, and graduated from two medical colleges. His books from this time include, Self- Culture and Biopheuma: The Science of the Great Breath. These are spiritual in nature. His literary career resumed after he retired from his practice of medicine.
Spiritually his studies were towards the sounds and thoughts were recorded. His deeper studies into this area led to deep meditation, hoping to enter and higher level of Spirituality. It was through these meditations that Levi entered into an area of Visions where he is said to have witnessed events,and saw ' The Book of God's Remembrance which are called The Akashic Records. From this he transcribed The Aquarian Gospel of Jesus - the Christ of the Piscean Age, which was published in 1908. He shares that this work contains the eighteen years of Jesus' life which were not in The New Testament.
