DHARMA
Dharma has many meanings, depending upon the use of this word. Dharma can be considered law, the foundation one must study, in order to perform what God expects of a follower, in service to God and to others in the world.
There are other Indian Religions besides Hinduism, which are founded on this complex concept, which makes the word Dharma, as complex at the Religions themselves. Buddhism, Jainism, and Sikhism are Dharma based Religions.
Dharma is eternal. As a follower of God, one has a duty to be virtuous and moral. To help one understand Dharma, you may consider this everything taught in the Religion, based on the Vedas. It is said Dharma is dependent upon your level within the society, your age, class, and work, as well as whether you are a male or female.
There is a deity named Dharma, who is said to be in charge of Dharma.
Swami Shivanada The Divine Life Society, Rishikesh, shares that Dharma is very important, and the rules of Dharma have been set in place for helping men to regulate worldly affairs.
It is also important to note that Swami Shivanada tells us Dharma can bring not only happiness in this world, but later in Eternity. You are cautioned that if you do not protect your Dharma you could experience death. The goal of Dharma is perfection. A Dharma of perfection will lead you to a Communion with the LORD.
In Hinduism it is important to practice good Dharma daily, in order to reach Achara, which is the supreme Dharma. One does not want to fall to evil.
What is interesting is, that Swami Shivanada says the controller of Dharma is God.
Therefor, is God's Name also Dharma? For the deity named Dharma, as we shared earlier, had ten wives, and produced offspring, many of them famous deities, according to Mythology.''
We will briefly touch base on the deities, in another study guide.
God Has Shared with me...
''I Have Many Names.
AMEN"
