1: Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Places in Ephesians 1
Ephesus: An Ancient Greek city, which became a Roman city of great prominence. Today, Ephesus is located in Turkey, in the Izmir Province.
Known for being the center of Early Christianity, Paul lived in Ephesus from 52 to 54 AD. He worked towards missionary services for those who lived in the hinterlands, known for being areas behind a city usually near the water or ports.
When paul lived and taught in Ephesus, he had arguments with the artisans over the statues of Artemis. See below.

Paul Teaching in Ephesus
Acts 19:1-7 Apollo is at Corinth, and Paul finds disciples at Ephesus, baptized of John, in need of The Holy Ghost. They are baptized in Jesus Christ, receive The Holy Ghost; speak in tongues and prophesied.
Acts 19:10-12 Paul teaches two years in Asia dwellers hear word of God. Paul Receives the way to perform special Miracles Through God. Just touching something he held or wore could heal if the holder believed.
Acts 19:13-22 Exorcists, not of Paul, attempt Exorcism in his name. Sceva a Jew does the ceremony. The evil spirit creates havoc. This creates many followers of Jesus. Paul wishes to see Rome, but must wait. He stays in Asia teaching, after sending Timotheus and Erastus to Macedonia.
Acts 19:23-41 Fear comes to Demetrius a silversmith. He makes Pagan Temples the goddess Diana. He is afraid the new teachings of Paul. The city, in confusion meets at the theater in Asia. Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul's traveling companions, in custody. Pauls disciples protecting him from entering the theater. Chaos; Alexander, a Jew takes control to make his case. The people shout for goddess Diana, and are appeased by the townclerk.

It is said, Mary, Jesus' Mother lived in Ephesus and that this was her last home. It sits a shrine, a place to visit when on a pilgrimage.
Ephesus is known for the Temple of Artemis which is on the list of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Unfortunately, this temple from 550 B.C. was destroyed in 401 AD, by one of the Saints. Saint John Chrysostom, who died five years after this event, was one of the early Fathers of the Christian Church. Raised in a Pagan household, he eventually turned to Christianity. He has an extensive history.
Ephesus is a city of the Emperor Constantine. He not only rebuilt the city, but as it was his custom, he built new Roman Baths.
This city has a large graveyard for the Gladiators. This is also a common entertainment of Emmperor Constantine, Gladiator games.
Some believe that The Gospel of John may have been written in Ephesus.
