MIRACLES OF JESUS – CASTING OUT DEVILS
MATTHEW
Matthew 8:28-34 Jesus Cast Devils Into Herd Of Swine
28: And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
29: And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
30: And there was a good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.
31: So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine.
32: And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters
33: And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told every thing, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils.
34: And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
Matthew 9:32-36 Jesus Casts out a devil from a dumb man possessed-the Pharisees accuse...
32: As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
33: And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
34: But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
35: And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
36: But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Matthew 15: 21-28 The Canaan Woman with a Possessed Child
21: Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22: And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23: But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24: But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25: Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26: But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27: And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28: Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Matthew 17:14-21 The Disciples could not cast out a devil and Jesus casts him out of a man's son. They ask why? ...Because of your unbelief ...have faith as a grain of mustard seed ...mountain, Remove hence to yonder place;
14: And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15: Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16: And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17: Then Jesus answered and said,
O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you?
bring him hither to me.
18: And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19: Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20: And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

MARK
Mark 1: 21-28 Jesus Teaches in the Capernaum Synagogue on the Sabbath, and exorcises an unclean spirit from a man there, and they wonder at Jesus' authority, in commanding the unclean spirits
21: And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught.
22: And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes.
23: And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,
24: Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art,the Holy One of God.
25: And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.
26: And when the unclean spirit had torn him, and cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.
27: And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.
28: And immediately his fame spread abroad throughout all the region round about Galilee.
Mark 3:11-12 Unclean spirits

3: Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
4: Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
5: And always, night and day, he was in the mountains, and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones.
6: But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him,
7: And cried with a loud voice, and said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not.
8: For he said unto him, Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.
9: And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many.
10: And he besought him much that he would not send them away out of the country.
11: Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12: And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.
13: And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
14: And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done.
15: And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
16: And they that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17: And they began to pray him to depart out of their coasts.
18: And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
19: Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
20: And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

No where is it written in detail Jesus casts out Mary Magdalene's Seven Devils. It is made reference to, after the Crucifixion, when he first appears to her in Mark 16.
Also with Jesus are Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, wife of Chuza – Herod's steward, and Susanna. These are the women who also follow. They are not named as disciples, but are quite important, for at the end of Jesus' story, the woman do not run, but stay to mourn and rejoice in the Resurrection. In Luke 8:2, this is the first time, Mary Magdalene is said to have been the one healed of evil spirits. It is also included here that she has infirmities. Usually, it is added as an after thought, as in Mark 16:9. Yet, we should remember that it is to Mary Magdalene that Jesus chooses to appear first, after his Resurrection. Joanna, and Susanna are first mentioned here also. (Luke 24: 10) Herod may have had an affect on Jesus' sentencing, but his servants are becoming followers.
Luke 8:2-3 ( Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Susanna follow Jesus)
2: And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,
3: And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.
Luke 8: 26-40 Jesus Casts Out Legion of Devils Into Swine
26: And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
27: And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
28: When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
29: (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
30: And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
31: And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
32: And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
33: Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.
34: When they that fed them saw what was done, they fled, and went and told it in the city and in the country.
35: Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
36: They also which saw it told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
37: Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear: and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.
38: Now the man out of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him: but Jesus sent him away, saying,
39: Return to thine own house, and shew how great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.
40: And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him.

37: And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down from the hill, much people met him.
38: And, behold, a man of the company cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is mine only child.
39: And, lo, a spirittaketh him, and he suddenly crieth out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly departeth from him.
40: And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and they could not.
41: And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy son hither.
42: And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child, and delivered him again to his father.
43: And they were all amazed at the mighty power of God.
But while they wondered every one at all things which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,
44: Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
45: But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

Luke 9: 46-50 Who Is The Greatest Disciple?
46: Then there arose a reasoning among them, which of them should be greatest.
47: And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him,
48: And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.
49: And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
50: And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.
