they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.
2 Kings 2:15-18 when the sons of the prophets-at Jericho saw him,
they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha-
they came to meet him, and bowed ...said -Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go... and seek thy master...
And he said, Ye shall not send...they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send...
they sought three days, but found him not...they came again to him... he said...Did I not say unto you, Go not?
2 Kings 2:19-22 the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold...this city is pleasant,
as my lord seeth: but the water is naught...
he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein...
And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there-
said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters...
2 Kings 2:23-25 And he went up... unto Bethel...there came forth little children out of the city-
mocked him-said unto him, Go up, thou bald head...
he turned back... and cursed them in the name of the LORD -
there came forth two she bears - and tare forty and two children...
he went from thence to mount Carmel... he returned to Samaria.

Elijah (Elias)
Elijah (/ɪˈlaɪdʒə/; ih-LY-jə; Hebrew: אֱלִיָּהוּ, Eliyahu, meaning "My God is Yahu/Jah") or latinized form Elias ((/ɪˈlaɪəs/ ih-LY-əs) was, according to the Books of Kings in the Hebrew Bible, a prophet and a miracle worker who lived in the northern kingdom of Israel during the reign of King Ahab (9th century BC). In 1 Kings 18, Elijah defended the worship of the Jewish God over that of the Canaanite deity Baal. God also performed many miracles through Elijah, including resurrection (raising the dead), bringing fire down from the sky, and entering Heaven alive "by fire". He is also portrayed as leading a school of prophets known as "the sons of the prophets".Following his ascension, Elisha, his disciple and most devoted assistant took over his role as leader of this school. The Book of Malachi prophesies Elijah's return "before the coming of the great and terrible day of the LORD", making him a harbinger of the Messiah and of the eschaton in various faiths that revere the Hebrew Bible. References to Elijah appear in Ecclesiasticus, the New Testament, the Mishnah and Talmud, the Quran, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and Bahá'í writings. wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elijah

BETHEL
Bethel (Ugaritic: bt il, meaning "House of El" or "House of God", Hebrew: בֵּית אֵל ḇêṯ’êl, also transliterated Beth El, Beth-El, Beit El; Greek: Βαιθηλ; Latin: Bethel) was a border city described in the Hebrew Bible as being located between Benjamin and Ephraim and also a location named by Jacob. Under Israelite rule, Bethel first belonged to the Tribe of Benjamin, but was later conquered by the Tribe of Ephraim.
Eusebius of Caesarea and Jerome describe Bethel in their time as a small village that lay 12 Roman miles north of Jerusalem, to the right or east of the road leading to Neapolis.
Modern scholar Edward Robinson identified the village of Beitin in the West Bank with ancient Bethel in Biblical Researches in Palestine, 1838–52. He based this assessment on its fitting the location described in earlier texts, and on the phiLaughing with Joyogical similarities between the modern and ancient name, arguing that the replacement of the Hebrew el with the Arabic in was not unusual.
Ten years after the Six-Day War, the biblical name was applied to an Israeli settlement Beit El constructed adjacent to Beitin. In several countries—particularly in the US—the name has been given to various locations...
