1: Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat reigned Abijam over Judah.
2: Three years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
3: And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father.
1 Kings 15:4-8 for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem...there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life. (See the book of Chronicles)there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam...Abijam slept with his fathers... buried-in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned...
4: Nevertheless for David's sake did the LORD his God give him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem:
5: Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
6: And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
7: Now the rest of the acts of Abijam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijam and Jeroboam.
8: And Abijam slept with his fathers; and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead.
1 Kings 15:9-14 the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah...forty and one years -in Jerusalem-his mother's name was Maachah-daughter of Abishalom... he took away the sodomites out of the land-removed all the idols...Maachah his mother-he removed from being queen-she had made an idol-and Asa destroyed her idol- burnt it by the brook Kidron.
9: And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel reigned Asa over Judah.
10: And forty and one years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maachah, the daughter of Abishalom.
11: And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, as did David his father.
12: And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.
13: And also Maachah his mother, even her he removed from being queen, because she had made an idol in a grove; and Asa destroyed her idol, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
14: But the high places were not removed: nevertheless Asa's heart was perfect with the LORD all his days.
1 Kings 15:15 he brought in the things which his father had dedicated into the house of the LORD...
15: And he brought in the things which his father had dedicated, and the things which himself had dedicated, into the house of the LORD, silver, and gold, and vessels.
1 Kings 15:16-17 there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days...Baasha... went up against Judah, and built Ramah,
16: And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
17: And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not suffer any to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.
1 Kings 15:18-20 Asa took all the silver-the gold...of the house of the LORD, and...of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants...sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria-dwelt at Damascus, saying...There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present...break thy league with Baasha king of Israel.. So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa-sent the captains-he had against-Israel-smote Ijon, -Dan-bel-beth-maachah-Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
18: Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants: and king Asa sent them to Ben-hadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, saying,
19: There is a league between me and thee, and between my father and thy father: behold, I have sent unto thee a present of silver and gold; come and break thy league with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me.
20: So Ben-hadad hearkened unto king Asa, and sent the captains of the hosts which he had against the cities of Israel, and smote Ijon, and Dan, and Abel-beth-maachah, and all Cinneroth, with all the land of Naphtali.
1 Kings 15:21-24 when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah...king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted-they took away the stones of Ramah-the timber-Baasha had builded-Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah. (See the book of Chronicles) Asa-old diseased in his feet-Asa slept with his fathers-buried in the city of David his father-Jehoshaphat his son reigned...
21: And it came to pass, when Baasha heard thereof, that he left off building of Ramah, and dwelt in Tirzah.
22: Then king Asa made a proclamation throughout all Judah; none was exempted: and they took away the stones of Ramah, and the timber thereof, wherewith Baasha had builded; and king Asa built with them Geba of Benjamin, and Mizpah.
23: The rest of all the acts of Asa, and all his might, and all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? Nevertheless in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet.
24: And Asa slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father: and Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead.
1 Kings 15:25-28 Nadab-son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel- 2nd year of Asa king of Judah...he did evil in the sight of the LORD-in his sin-he made Israel to sin...Baasha-son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him-Baasha smote him at Gibbethon- of the Philistines- Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon..in 3rd year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead..
25: And Nadab the son of Jeroboam began to reign over Israel in the second year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned over Israel two years.
26: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.
27: And Baasha the son of Ahijah, of the house of Issachar, conspired against him; and Baasha smote him at Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines; for Nadab and all Israel laid siege to Gibbethon.
28: Even in the third year of Asa king of Judah did Baasha slay him, and reigned in his stead.
1 Kings 15:29-31 ...when he reigned-he smote all the house of Jeroboam...according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite...Because of the sins of Jeroboam-he made Israel sin... he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger. (See the book of Chronicles)
29: And it came to pass, when he reigned, that he smote all the house of Jeroboam; he left not to Jeroboam any that breathed, until he had destroyed him, according unto the saying of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Ahijah the Shilonite:
30: Because of the sins of Jeroboam which he sinned, and which he made Israel sin, by his provocation wherewith he provoked the LORD God of Israel to anger.
31: Now the rest of the acts of Nadab, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
1 Kings 15:32-34 there was war between Asa and Baasha-the 3rd year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah 24 years... he did evil in the sight of the LORD-in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin- he made Israel to sin.
32: And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days.
33: In the third year of Asa king of Judah began Baasha the son of Ahijah to reign over all Israel in Tirzah, twenty and four years.
34: And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin wherewith he made Israel to sin.

*BAASHA KING OF ISRAEL
Baasha became king of Israel in the third year of Asa, king of Judah. (1 Kings 15:28) William F. Albright has dated his reign to 900 - 877 BCE, while E. R. Thiele offers the dates 909 - 886 BCE. Baasha came to power by murdering the previous king, Nadab, followed by the entire House of Jeroboam (Nadab's father and predecessor). Baasha had previously been a captain in Nadab's own army. Like many military leaders, he appears to have risen from obscurity. The fact that he came from the tribe of Issachar suggests that he may have represented a local faction.

JEHOSHAPHAT - SON OF ASA
Jehoshaphat (/dʒəˈhɒʃəfæt/; alternatively spelled Jehosaphat, Josaphat, or Yehoshafat; Hebrew: יְהוֹשָׁפָט, Modern Yehoshafat, Tiberian Yəhôšāp̄āṭ; "Jehovah has judged"; Greek: Ἰωσαφάτ; Latin: Josaphat) is a Biblical name which refers to several characters in the Christian Bible: The first, Jehoshaphat the Recorder, son of Ahilud, is a scribe who first appears in 2 Samuel. Jehoshaphat, son of Paruah, in Issachar, appears in 1 Kings 4:17. Jehoshaphat, son of Asa, first appears in 1 Kings 15:24 as a King of Judah. There does not appear to be any firm extrabiblical historical evidence for the existence of any of these characters.
This article concerns Jehoshaphat, the King of Judah, as described in the Bible.
According to 1 Kings 15:24, Jehoshaphat, son of Asa, was the fourth king of the Kingdom of Judah, and successor to his father. His children included Jehoram, who succeeded him as king. His mother was Azubah. Historically, his name has sometimes been connected with the Valley of Josaphat.

* NADAB - KING OF ISRAEL
Nadab became king of Israel in the second year of Asa, King of Judah, and reigned for two years. William F. Albright has dated his reign to 901 - 900 BCE, while E. R. Thiele offers the dates 910 - 909 BCE.
In the second year of his reign, while they were besieging Gibbethon, a Philistine town in southern Dan, a conspiracy broke out in Nadab's army. He was slain by one of his own captains, Baasha, who then made himself king of Israel.
Having slain Nadab, Baasha put to death the remainder of the royal family (I Kings 14. 20, 15. 25-29). This was consistent with the prophecy given via Ahijah the Shilonite concerning the extinction of the entire House of Jeroboam.

REHOBOAM
Rehoboam (pronounced /ˌriːəˈboʊ.əm/; Hebrew: רְחַבְעָם, Modern Reẖav'am, Tiberian Rəḥaḇʻām; meaning "he who enlarges the people"; Greek: Ροβοαμ; Latin: Roboam) was an Israelite king mentioned in the Hebrew Bible. According to I Kings and II Chronicles, he was initially king of the United Monarchy of Israel, but after the ten northern tribes of Israel rebelled in 932/931 BC to form the independent Kingdom of Israel (Samaria), he remained as king of only the Kingdom of Judah, or southern kingdom. He was a son of Solomon and a grandson of David. His mother was Naamah the Ammonite.
One episode which the Bible places during the reign of Rehoboam, and which is confirmed by the records from the Bubastite Portal in Karnak and other archaeological find—without the specific mention of the name Rehoboam—is the Egyptian invasion of Judea(region)Judea by the Egyptian pharaoh Shoshenq I, who is identified by many with the biblical King Shishak. One of the most difficult issues in identifying Shishak with Shoshenq I is the biblical statement that "King Shishak of Egypt attacked Jerusalem. He seized the treasures of the Lord's temple and the royal palace" (1 Kings 14:25-26), making this Shoshenq's biggest prize, whereas the Bubastite Portal lists do not include Jerusalem or any city from central Judea among the surviving names in the list of Shoshenq's conquests.

1 Kings 12:10-11 ...the young men...spake unto him, saying, Thus shalt thou speak unto this people ... My little finger shall be thicker than my father's loins...whereas my father did lade you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke...I will chastise you with scorpions.
1 Kings 12:12-14 Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day...the king answered the people roughly...
spake to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, My father made your yoke heavy,
and I will add to your yoke: my father also chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.
1 Kings 12:15 the king hearkened not unto the people ...cause as from the LORD ...
spake by Ahijah the Shilonite unto Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
1 Kings 12:16-17 when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not...the people answered...
What portion have we in David?...the children of Israel...in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
1 Kings 12:18-19 king Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was over the tribute; and all Israel stoned him with stones, that he died...
king Rehoboam ... flee to Jerusalem ....
Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.
1 Kings 12:20-21 when all Israel heard that Jeroboam was come again...made him king over all Israel...
none that followed the house of David, but the tribe of Judah only...
Rehoboam...assembled all the house of Judah, with the tribe of Benjamin...
to fight against the house of Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam the son of Solomon.
1 Kings 12:22-24 But the word of God came unto Shemaiah the man of God, saying...
Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel...
1 Kings 12:25-27...Then Jeroboam built Shechem in mount Ephraim...
said in his heart, Now shall the kingdom return to the house of David...
then shall the heart of this people turn again unto their lord, even unto Rehoboam king of Judah, and they shall kill me...
1 Kings 12:28-33 the king took counsel, and made two calves of gold - said ...
behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.
this thing became a sin...

Uriah the Hittite
(Hebrew: אוּרִיָּה הַחִתִּֽי ’Ūrîyāh ha-Ḥittî) was a soldier in King David’s army mentioned in the Second Book of Samuel. He was the husband of Bathsheba and was murdered by order of King David. Uriah's wife had become pregnant by King David in Uriah's absence. Although the king had ordered him to return home and see his wife, Uriah repeatedly refused to leave his post or leave the King's presence to see her. Contact between the couple would have hidden the source of her pregnancy. As a result of this murder, David was rebuked by the prophet Nathan; furthermore, later turmoil in David's household and throughout the kingdom of Israel, including the death of Bathsheba's baby and the insurrection of prince Absalom, was believed to be punishment for David's sins of adultery and murder.

*Abel Beth Maacah
Tel Abel Beth Maacah, Arabic name: Tell Abil el-Qameḥ, is a large archaeological site consisting of a mound with an small upper northern section and a large lower southern one, connected by a saddle. It is located on the northern border of present-day Israel, about 2 km south of the town of Metulla and about 6.5 km west of Tel Dan.
The survey and excavations conducted so far (2012-2016) have shown that the site had been inhabited during the Bronze and Iron Ages, as well as the Persian, Hellenistic, Byzantine, Early Islamic, Crusader, Mamluk and Ottoman periods. However, the lower mound was not occupied after the Iron Age I (late 11th/early 10th centuries BCE), when occupation seems to have concentrated on the upper mound.

The Kingdom of Israel
The United Monarchy is the name given to the Israelite kingdom of Israel and Judah, during the reigns of Saul, David and Solomon, as depicted in the Hebrew Bible. This is traditionally dated between 1050 and 930 BCE. On the succession of Solomon's son, Rehoboam, in c. 930 BCE the biblical account reports that the country split into two kingdoms; the Kingdom of Israel (including the cities of Shechem and Samaria) in the north and the Kingdom of Judah (containing Jerusalem) in the south. Modern historians are divided on the historicity of the United Monarchy as described in the Bible. There is no direct evidence of a united Kingdom of Judah and Israel in the 10th century BCE.

JUDAH
The Kingdom of Judah (Hebrew: מַמְלֶכֶת יְהוּדָה, Mamlekhet Yehuda) was a state established in the Southern Levant during the Iron Age. The Hebrew Bible says that the kingdom of Judah, along with the northern Kingdom of Israel, was the successor to a United Monarchy, but modern archaeology and textual analysis have suggested theories saying otherwise, rejecting the account of a united monarchy and suggesting that Judah became a fully developed kingdom much later than the culturally related but politically distinct northern kingdom of Israel.
