Anne Terri's Research: Suspended Animation/Cryonics
Anne's Introduction:
Many people are confused as to what Cyronics can provide for the patient. Hollywood has muddied the water in this area. They'd have one believe that you can be reanimated after many years in suspended animation. Perhaps, it is possible, but is it desirable? So much has come forward from old Jules Verne based Movies, and other science fiction films. Yet, we have to look into the reason for this form of science.

Let's look at what has been researched from Wikipedia
''Suspended animation is the slowing of life processes by external means without termination. Breathing, heartbeat, and other involuntary functions may still occur, but they can only be detected by artificial means. Extreme cold is used to precipitate the slowing of an individual's functions; use of this process has led to the developing science of cryonics. Outside of science fiction, the technique has never been applied to humans for more than a few hours.''
Anne Terri: My Turtle does this yearly, if I don't intervene with warm baths.
Wikipedia Encyclopedia continued: ''Placing astronauts in suspended animation has been proposed as one way for an individual to reach the end of an interplanetary or interstellar journey, avoiding the necessity for a gigantic generation ship occasionally the two concepts have been combined, with generations of "caretakers" supervising a large population of frozen passengers.
Since the 1970s,hypothermia has been induced for some open heart surgeries, as an alternative to heart lung machines, hypothermia, however, only provides a limited amount of time in which to operate and there is a risk of tissue and brain damage for prolonged periods.''
Note: This above has not received citation of proof. This is one thing I like about Wikipedia.
They make effort to corroborate their work.

Research from Suspended Animation Inc./ based in Florida
Anne Terri: Apparently, there are companies that are working towards this goal. There is little on line to work with, in the way of research. One such company, seems to be working medically towards prolonging life through equipment designed for Cyropreservation. This is part of what they are sharing with their prospective clients.
''Suspended Animation develops new equipment, techniques, and technologies to minimize the cellular injury that normally occurs after legal death. We apply our procedures to clients who have made separate arrangements for long-term cryopreservation with cryonics organizations.
Our research projects include a portable liquid ventilation system to enhance rapid cooling in the field, custom modification of advanced rescue and transport vehicles, and equipment to enable low-temperature human vitrification. By intervening as rapidly as possible after cardiac arrest, we aim to reduce the need for cellular repair when future scientists attempt to revive patients who have been cryopreserved. ''
Anne Terri: There is little information available for research, on Cyrogenics on line. Is this an underground group of scientists that are keeping their work mum?
However, based on my own interaction with patients, as a 911 Dispatcher, and as an EMT/MEDIC, and their transport via Ambulance, where they are in need of CPR along with Defibrillation, after cardiac arrest, I can assure you the percentage of the ones that come back through this process are few. Cardiac arrest can occur for many reasons, and it would take entire books to discuss this heart related death.
For the Emergency providers, the basics are trauma related, age related, diet related, etc. There has been some success with children whom have drowned. This one is for the experts.
