Faith Taught in The Book of Luke
Luke 1:1-4 The Dedication To Theophilus, From Luke - having perfect understanding of all things from the very first ....
1: Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
2: Even as they delivered them unto us, which from the beginning were eyewitnesses, and ministers of the word;
3: It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,
4: That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed.
Luke 1: 5-25 John The Baptist's Birth Announced To Zacharias, by an Angel of The Lord, Gabriel
5: There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
6: And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7: And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.
8: And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,
9: According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10: And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.
11: And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12: And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.
13: But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14: And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
15: For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.
16: And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.
17: And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.
18: And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
19: And the angel answering said unto him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and am sent to speak unto thee, and to shew thee these glad tidings.
20: And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.
21: And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
22: And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.
23: And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house.
24: And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,
25: Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Luke 5:17-26 Jesus Heals A Man Sick Of The Palsy-The Power Of The Lord Was Present
17: And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. [/color]
18: And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.
19: And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
20: And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee.
21: And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?
]22: But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts?
23: Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk?
24: But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.
25: And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.
26: And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. [/b]
Luke 8:22-25 Miracle – Jesus Calms The Sea
22: Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.
23: But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.
24: And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
25: And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him.
Luke 8 43-48 Jesus Heals Woman With Blood Issue – ''A Virtue Is Gone Out of Me''
43: And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
44: Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
45: And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
46: And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
47: And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.
48: And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.
Luke 13:18-19 Jesus' Teaching: '' Unto what is the kingdom of God Like?'' ''Mustard Seed
18: Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it?
19: It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.

Luke 18: 1-8 (Jesus' Parable – A Judge Who Avenges A Widow Who is Persistent)
1: And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
2: Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
3: And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
4: And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
5: Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
6: And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
7: And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
8: I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Luke 18:35-43 (Healing A Blind Man)''Thou Son of David, have mercy on me''
35: And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36: And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37: And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38: And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
39: And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.
40: And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
41: Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42: And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
43: And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise unto God.
