National Geographic Channel Documentary
The Secret Bible
The Knights Of Templars are a European based religious group who were reported to have discovered the Holy Grail in the 12th century A.D.. Legend tells us that there were 9 original knights that would surround the Holy Grail in worship. They were known as the 4 Knights in the Temple Of Solomon. This was during the time of the Spanish Crusades. Many battles were fought by these Monks, who carried swords. Their enemies were Muslims.
Confusion still exists over the actual Holy Grail as to its form. Was it the Chalice Of Christ, the plate of Christ, a spear used to pierce His body on the cross, a spear to hold up the severed head of John The Baptist, or Mary Magdalene as a vessel for blood?
As you can see, no one knows the answer to this mystery.
Part of the legend tells us that there are records buried in the original Temple Of The Jews. They may be of Jesus and His descendants. The legend also claims that the body of John the Baptist is also buried there.
The Templars were rich men and it's possible that they used the first form of credit. They'd deposit their coins into a treasury, and in return would receive a check from the money changer for their travel. The charge for this service would be 10%.
The Knights Of Templars were made and destroyed by the Crusades. These wars were very expensive. King Philip brought their order to a halt by way of torture and by agreement with the current Pope.
It's reported that 100 Templars, including their leader, De Molay, were tortured into submission. The rack caused them to confess to everything from Heresy to denouncing Jesus. Their loss of faith was due to severe pain.
What's even more confusing is that part of their doctrine supports Jesus and other parts lean to wards Mohammad.
Their symbols exist throughout Europe in various churches that still support their cause. These include the most recognizable one of two men riding astride a single horse.
From witnessing the map in the documentary, it prompted me to do more research. It's is noted here with this map link that there are few maps still in existence that actually show what the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding lands looked like in the past.
