THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT - STUDY GUIDE
THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT - STUDY GUIDE
God's Forward:
Separating The New Testament Gospels into comparison study guides takes hours of dedication. They are like a puzzle put together out of order, due to the way the Disciples came together and were chosen By Me, Through Jesus Christ. Matthew chose to write his version of The Beatitudes and The Sermon on the Mount as part of his early lessons from Jesus Christ. He was not a Disciple when he wrote this, but he was an avid follower. Matthew was a man who had the means to obtain writing equipment, due to his position and profession.
There are sections in The Gospel of Luke which also match Matthew's version of The Sermon On The Mount, and they appear mostly in Luke 6. However, when there is a comparison to anything in Matthew from Jesus' Sermon, that has been written in various segments in other areas of The New Testament, references have been noted here.
AMEN''
SALT
Matthew 5:12-16 - ''the salt of the earth''.... ''the light of the world'' .... ''let your light shine''
12: Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
13:Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14: Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15: Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16:Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Anne Terri's Notes: Mark did not document a Sermon On The Mount, but instead wrote of the Miracle Transfiguration of Jesus, a Vision which occurred on top of a mountain, in place of this. Yet, some of the words of Jesus are the same, for he also taught the Disciples after they came down from the mountain.
Mark 9:48-50 ''Salt Is Good''
48: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
49: For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50: Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
Anne Terri's Notes: Luke documents The Sermon On The Mount in Luke 6, after Jesus comes down from the mountain where he has Prayed throughout the night. Other sections of Luke, such as in Luke 11, and Luke 14, have parts of what Matthew has written as part of what has been written as his Sermon On The Mount.
Luke 14:34-35 ''Salt Is Good''
34: Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?
35: It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
JESUS SPEAKS OF THE LAW OF THE PROPHETS
Matthew 5:17-18 (Jesus To Fulfill The Law Of The Prophets)
17: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18: For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 5:19-26 (Follow Commandments – Thou Shalt Not Kill- The Least and Greatest In The Kingdom of Heaven - Judgment)
19: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
20: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
21: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time,Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22: But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
23: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
24: Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
25: Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
26: Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
Raca: A term of reproach used by the Jews of our Savior's time, meaning "worthless."
IF THY RIGHT EYE OFFEND THEE
Matthew 5:27-32 (Adultery, To look is to lust .... Fornication)
27: Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29: And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
30: And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
31: It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
32: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
Mark 9: 47 (If thine eye offend thee ....''
47: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
Anne Terri's Notes: In Mark 9:36-50 , this lesson is long, with lines about a worm in between each segment. It does not have anything to do with Adultery, as it is written in Matthew 5:27-32. And it begins with Jesus, teaching about a child, and ends with the lesson I posted above in reference to ''Salt Is Good.'' It is important to note, that no where else in The New Testament is anything written about the ''worm dieth not''. However, it is in Isaiah 66:24, and this will also be documented in How They Made The Crucifixion Fit The Prophecies Of The Old Testament. All of Isaiah 66, should be noted. There is much there that has been used in The New Testament.

Matthew 5: 33-42 (Swear Not – Perform Thine Oaths – An Eye For An Eye- Turn The Other Cheek)
33: Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
34: But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35: Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36: Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37: But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
38: Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
39: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
40: And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
41: And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
42: Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
(Lev 19:12) (Num 30:2) (Num 35:) (Deut 23:21) (Mark 9:47)
Exodus 21:22-25(Judgment Men hurt woman pregnant with child and she has miscarriage, etcetera ....Eye for eye .... life for life)
22: If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23: And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24: Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25: Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
Isaiah 66:1 '' the earth is my foot stool''
1: Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?
Lev 19:12 ''And ye shall not swear by my name falsely,''
12: And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.
Anne Terri's Note: In Deuteronomy 23:21, Moses taught vows unto the Lord needed to be paid, or it would be a sin. I believe this was based on the Commandment of not coveting they neighbours goods. However, Jesus is teaching differently, in Matthew 5:40-42. Could this be a way for the Jews, to find fault with him?
Deut 23:21
21: When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.
Mark 9: 47 (Matthew 5:38)
47: And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
LOVE YOUR ENEMIES
Matthew 5: 43-48 ''Love thy neighbor ....'' ''Your Father Which is in Heaven Is perfect.''
43: Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
44: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45: That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46: For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47: And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48: Be ye therefore perfect, even as your
Father which is in heaven is perfect.
Luke 6:29 ''Love Your Enemies''
25: Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.
26: Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
27: But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,
28: Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
29: And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
30: Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again.
31: And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
32: For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
33: And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
34: And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
35: But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
36: Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
(Lev 19:18)
Anne Terri's Notes: Thus far, I have not found it written in The Old Testament of hating one's enemy, but there are many accounts throughout this, where it is written that the Lord is angry, and the Children of Israel should take down the Pagan tribes. Here are a few examples. (Exodus 17:14) (Deut 23:3)
However, I must remind you of God's Commandment of Thou Shalt Not Kill. And what is quoted below, in Leviticus 19:18, ''thou shalt love they neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD''
''AMEN''
(Lev 19:18)
18: Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD.

GIVE THINE ALMS IN SECRET
Matthew 6:1-4 ''Do Not Sound A Trumpet...Thou Shalt Not Be As The Hypocrites''
1: Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2: Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3: But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
4: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
PRAY IN SECRET
Matthew 6: 5-15 Jesus' Teaching (Pray In Secret – The Lord's Prayer)
5: And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6: But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7: But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8: Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9: After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11: Give us this day our daily bread.
12: And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14: For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
See also (Mark 11: 25-26 ) (Luke 11:1-4)
Mark 11: 25-26 The Lord's Prayer
25: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
26: But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Luke 11: 1-4 The Lord's Prayer
1: And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2: And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3: Give us day by day our daily bread.
4: And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

FAST IN SECRET
Matthew 6:16-18 Jesus Teaching - Fasting In Secret
16: Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17: But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18: That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thyFather, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
TREASURES IN HEAVEN
Matthew 6: 19-21 ''Lay Up For Yourselves Treasures In Heaven''
19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
THE LIGHT OF THE BODY
Matthew 6: 22-24 ''The Light of the body
22: The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23: But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!
NO MAN CAN SERVE TWO MASTERS
Matthew 6: 24 Jesus' Teaching ''Ye cannot serve God and Mammon''
24: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve[/color] God and mammon. [/b]
PARABLE - LILIES OF THE FIELD
Matthew 6:25-34 The Lilies Of The Field
25: Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
26: Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
27: Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28: And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29: And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30: Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31: Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32: (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Luke 12: 13-40 Jesus' Parable – The Lilies Of The Field
13: And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me.
14: And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you?
15: And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
16: And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18: And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19: And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20: But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
21: So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
22: And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
23: The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
24: Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
25: And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit?
26: If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
27: Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28: If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29: And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
30: For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31: But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
32: Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33: Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
34: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35: Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
36: And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.
37: Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.
38: And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.
39: And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.
40: Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
JUDGE NOT
Matthew 7:1-5 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
1: Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2: For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3: And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4: Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5: Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
Luke 6:37-38 ''Judge not, and ye shall not be judged''
37: Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
38: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
(Leviticus 19:13-17, James 4:11, and James 5:9)
CAN THE BLIND LEAD THE BLIND?
Luke 6:39-42 Jesus Teaching Parable: ''Can The Blind Lead The Blind? .... cast out first the beam out of thine own eye ....''
39: And he spake a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? shall they not both fall into the ditch?
40: The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
41: And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
42: Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
Luke 6:45-47 The Difference Luke's Version of ''Can the blind lead the blind?''
45: A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
46: And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
47: Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:
Matthew 7:6 NOT GIVING WHAT IS HOLY UNTO DOGS
6: Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
ASK AND YOU SHALL RECEIVE
Matthew 7: 7-14 Jesus' Teaching Parable: ''Ask And it Shall be Given, Knock and it Shall Be Opened, Do Unto Others ....The Straight Narrow Gate''
7: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9: Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10: Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
12: Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13: Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Anne Terri's Notes: The Parable that Jesus teaches, which I have written as ''Give Good Gifts Unto Your Children in Luke 11:5-13, appears not only in Luke 11, but parts of the teaching also are written above in Matthew 7:6-14. In Luke 13:24, Jesus speaks also of the straight gate. And a profound saying of Jesus, that is in Luke 11:9-10, appears throughout Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, 1 John and James.

19: And when even was come, he went out of the city.

8: I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.
9: And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
10: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
11: If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
12: Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
13: If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Luke 13:22-30 ''Strive to enter in at the strait gate.... the kingdom of God.'' ....''there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.''
22: And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
23: Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24: Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25: When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
26: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.
27: But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28: There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.
29: And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30: And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

FALSE PROPHETS - EVERY TREE IS KNOWN BY HIS OWN FRUIT
Matthew 7: 15-20 Beware of False Prophets – Jesus' Parable – ''Every Tree is Known By His Own Fruit.''
15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16: Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17: Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18: A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19: Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20: Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
See: (Luke 6: 26, 43-44)
Anne Terri: Also note, how in Matthew 7:15, You are told to beware of false prophets, which is written differently from Luke 6:26, where it has changed to a warning on what their fathers did to the false prophets.
Luke 6:26 ''A Warning On What they did to false prophets in the past''
26: Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Luke 6:43-44 ''Every tree is know by his own fruit'' (Matt 7:16-20)
43: For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
44: For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
DO THE WILL OF THE FATHER
Matthew 7: 21 -29 Jesus Teaching – ''Doeth The will of my Father''
21: Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23: And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
BUILD A HOUSE ON ROCK
Matthew 7: 24-29 Jesus' Teaching - Build A House Upon A Rock
24: Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26: And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
28: And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:
29: For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
See Also: (Luke 6:48-49)
Luke 6:48-49 Jesus' Teaching ''For it was founded on rock''
48: He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.
49: But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.
Anne Terri: At this time, my conclusion is not complete. For in The Gospel of Matthew, what is written in Matthew 5 through Matthew 7, is the most complete and coherent version of The Sermon On The Mount. I have found various sections in Luke 6, Luke 11, and Luke 14, that appear to match, as you have seen above. There are lesser matches in Mark 9: 47, 50 and Mark 11. Many are out of time line with Matthew.
