Germany's Decision to Begin Closing Their Nuclear Power Plants (God Through Carlo Ferdinando and Anne Terri)
1. I Applaud Germany for leading the way in Europe, with their decision to begin closing their nuclear power plants.
2. Obviously this will take time, for as Carlo shared with Anne Terri this morning, something this monumental can not be done overnight.
3. Their plan is to close the final plant which is in operation by the year, 2022.
4. There are seventeen reactors in Germany, and they will no longer be slated for life extension, as recently planned.
5. Their decision to seek safer solutions to power, came about after seeing what happened recently in Japan, this past March.
6. The devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami, challenged their advanced technology, leaving them with a nuclear disaster which is similar to Chernobyl.
7. Germany is aiming for a safer future, with another solution for electricity production.
