Matthew 24:1 Shew Us The Temple

1: And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

Matthew 24: 2 The Temple Stones Thrown Down

2: And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Matthew 24: 3-5 Jesus Speaks To Disciples ---- False Christs and Prophets

3: And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be?

Anne Terri: Many consider this next section (Matthew 24-6-51), to be a Prophecy. This type of Prophecy has been a running thread through out

Matthew 24: 6 - 22 The End Of The World

6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8: All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Anne Terri: See how the tide turns in Matthew 24: 32-33 Once more it seems as if Jesus is teaching in Parables, but it is out of place, out of context. It's as if the storm has passed, but the thunder can be heard in the distance. Know too, that heaven and earth haven't passed away. Their generation did pass and none of this happened. How can the words remain, when all else has passed away?

Matthew 24:32-33 The Parable Of The Fig Tree

32: Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33:So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Anne Terri's Research Notes: It is documented within The New Testament, that the temple was shaken by earthquake at the time of Jesus giving up his spirit on the cross. Not all witnesses have felt this quake, and it is not written in all of the Gospels. We will go into this further as we read on. However, according to Historical accounts, the Temple was also destroyed in 70 A.D.
